Guided tour with sunset - sunset in the history of the cool

Discover the MOLA STRENGTH at the most magical moment of the day. When the sun leans over the mouth of Maó, its walls are dyed gold and the tunnels charge an air of mystery impossible to capture in full sun. Accompanied by our guide, you will travel secret passages, dusts excavated in the rock and batteries that still look at the Mediterranean, while the sky turns on to you.

But What makes this visit unique?

Built between 1848 and 1875 by order of Queen Elizabeth II, the Mola is one of the greatest European strengths of the nineteenth century. He was born to replace the Castle of San Felipe - demolid a few years before - and protect the coveted port of Maó, strategic enclave for the powers that then dominated the Mediterranean. He never got to fight a battle, which explains his excellent state of conservation: kilometers of galleries, neomedieval towers and the impressive vickers cannons that at the end of the 19th century expanded their defensive scope.

Today you can walk through those same corridors, look at troneras with infinite views and feel how the marine breeze mixes history and nature. At the afternoon, you will understand why the cool dominates not only the port, but also the hearts of those who visit it fortalesalamola.com.
